If you've been putting up with me reading here joyfully and willingly for a while now, you know of my love for coffee. You may also know of my ongoing working relationship with Gevalia Coffee, the premier destination for gourmet coffee delivered right to your front doorstep.
You could have colored me happy (sidenote: why isn't there a crayon entitled the ubiquitous "happy" anyway?) when I received a shipment containing Gevalia's current exclusive blends: Royal Vinter and Royal Vinter Spice. The Royal Vinter line was inspired by the magic of Swedish winters, and is the perfect cup of coffee for winter days when the air is cold and crisp. These two delicious coffees are available only during the winter season in limited quantities, and are made of an exclusive blend of Colombian, East African, and Indonesian beans.
I tried the Royal Vinter blend first, and was impressed by it's floral and caramel flavors, and hints of berry undertones. While the berry flavors are definitely subtle, I've never been one to get into mixing fruit and coffee. Hubby likes that kind of taste, though, and thought this blend was great.
My favorite, by far, was the Royal Vinter Spice. Holy cowboys, this was a delicious cup of coffee. It takes the fabulous Royal Vinter base and adds a touch of sweet vanilla, cinnamon, and clove flavors. Drinking this fabulous concoction was like inhaling the season of winter, no cream or sugar necessary. Fabulous.
