....except I'm totally not. But today is kind of a BIG DEAL day for me, because the lovely ladies over at SITS have chosen little ol' me as the featured blogger!
(Oh, who am I kidding with this humble nonsense..you all know I think I sh!t sparkles...and I have many leather bound books AND my apartment smells of rich mahogany.)
But honestly, SITS is a big deal. It's a wonderful blogging community that welcomes all bloggers and encourages support and love and connections between its members. I have found some of my favorite bloggy friends through SITS, as well as have received some of the most meaningful and special comments from SITS friends. So if you're not a SITSta already, head on over and see what it's all about!
So, to all of you SITStas who are new here, welcome. (To all of you who are already stuck with me, I'm sorry and I love you:) If I had to introduce myself to you, I'd say that I'm a 28 year old chick living in the 'burbs with my two daughters-The Curly Haired One, age 5, and The Little One, age 3-and my husband, the brilliant Mr. Floren. If I had to introduce my blog to you, I would say that I mainly write about three things: funny stuff, crazy stuff, and free stuff. I curse, but I'm trying to hold it back today, you're welcome. The funny stuff is adventures with my kids, life with my dear husband (who is the straight man to my hilarity), and the ridiculous thoughts I have swirling in this head of mine. The crazy stuff is thoughts on my battles with substance abuse, PPD, and PTSD. And the free stuff-I host a weekly giveaway called Freebie Friday, in which I work with companies I truly care about to offer my lovely readers the chance to meet quality brands and win free stuff.
I also host a meme called Bitch and Moan Monday, in which we complain about any and everything and get it all out so you can leave it here and go on to a great week! If you would like to join me this coming Monday, one lucky blogger who links up or commenter who participates will win a $25 Visa Gift Card! (I'm SO not above bribery. Or shameless self promotion.)
But in all seriousness, welcome to my home. After having my children in rapid succession, moving six times in six years, and battling mental illness, I was very lost as to who I was. In Through The Out Door has helped me reclaim myself, and allowed me to make so many connections and work through so many issues via writing that I never would have had the chance to otherwise. I cannot believe what I have accomplished, personally and professionally, in the eight months and 323 posts I've been blogging. Love it or hate it, this website is totally, completely, unabashedly ME.
And you will love me, I promise!!!!
