Who needs a memory when you have a smart phone?

Truer words have never been spoken to me.  I've always had a memory that left a lot to be desired, but it has done nothing but get worse since I had children.  My brain is full just trying to remember the basic tasks, like what to feed who when, keeping up with laundry for two small princesses who each have more clothes than your average Old Navy, and preschool and grocery store trips.  It's no surprise, to me anyway, that I am constantly forgetting doctor's appointments, playdates, and the like.

The only thing that spends more time with me than my kids is my phone.  I've already talked about how I'm not a phone person, but that's only in the calling and conversation sense-when it comes to texting, email, and general web browsing-well, my phone never leaves my side.  Throw in my latest additions of GPS for my constantly lost self, and a calendar app for my constantly late self, and it is my new best friend.  It is the only thing that allows me to pretend that I have it all together, that I actually know what I'm doing and am a responsible adult capable of caring for small humans, seriously.

Not to mention I take 50% of all my pictures with my phone, and it allows me to email them directly to family, or upload them immediately to my social networks.  If I'm shopping for furniture and not sure if that picture frame will fit where I want it?  I can take a pic, send it to Mr. Floren, and get his opinion almost instantly.  Need to find a phone number on the fly?  My Yellow Pages app can take care of that.

I have what I consider a "semi" smart phone-it has web browsing and email capabilities, but comes without the more expensive data plans that the big name phones (Blackberry, iPhone) require.  According to Mr. Floren, who works in telecommunications and is paid to know these things, there is a big price war going on between the cell carriers right now-so if you don't already have a smart phone but have been considering it, now might be the time for you to take the plunge!

Verizon Wireless has a couple great new smart phones out right now of the Palm brand, and they are on sale now!  My husband verified for me that Verizon is correct in their claim that they have "the largest 3G network" in the US-trust me, he would know.:)  So if you do decide to go for it, consider Verizon!

Verizon and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this post, and they asked me to talk about the ways my smart phone affects my life as a parent. I agreed because of my knowledge of Verizon and my belief that they offer great service and a great product.  Sponsorship aside, all opinions in this post are 100% my own and uninfluenced by any factors.
