Recently, I was contacted by ecostore USA about doing a product review and giveaway for their amazing products. I was extremely excited to do this! ecostore USA is an online store, founded in New Zealand in 1993, that specializes in products that are not only completely good for the environment, they are good for the user as well. ecostore USA guarantees that all of their products are plant and/or mineral based and have No Nasty Chemicals...something that all of us can appreciate, right?
I am all about being "green", and if I have the choice between a regular product and something that is healthier for my kids and better for the environment, I'm definitely going to make the "green" choice. That is why ecostore USA's tagline really resonated with me. I don't want any nasty chemicals in my house!!
For the product review, I chose the Citrus Spray Cleaner and the Baby Massage Oil to try out. I was so thrilled when I received my products in the mail. They were delivered right to my door, in totally eco-friendly packaging! Even the packing peanuts were made from 100% recycled materials and were completely biodegradable! I had never seen that before, and was instantly impressed.
I decided to try out the Citrus Spray Cleaner first. My kitchen has a very large sink and LOADS of countertops. With all of the sticky toddler hands assaulting it all day long, I'm a big fan of spray cleaners to keep it sparkling. Because of said toddlers, I am very conscious of what I use to clean up. I have caught The Little One licking a counter immediately after wiping down! (I never claimed she was normal, folks.) ecostore USA assured me that the Citrus Spray Cleaner is absolutely free of anything harmful to my kiddos, so I was confident in its safety...now let's see how it cleans.
I was blown away by how well it did! It definitely worked better than the other "green" product I had been using, and kept right up with non-green cleaning sprays too! I used it to cut grease off my stovetop from cooking bacon, no problem. I even used it on my stainless steel appliances and it didn't leave a huge smeary mess! I was more than satisfied with the results. The smell is very pleasant, not strong or overwhelming at all. Just a nice clean feeling left all over my kitchen.
Now, time for the Baby Massage Oil. Even though my babies are technically not babies, I still lotion or oil them up after every daily bath, so I was looking forward to trying out this product. I have used other baby massage oils in the past but had been turned off by the greasiness, and strong, supposed aromatheraputic smells that were overwhelming and not appealing.
I smelled the massage oil while the girls were still bathing and my interest was definitely piqued. It was a very subtle scent, hints of mint, citrus, and eucalyptus. Overall, it smelled clean and gentle, and was definitely something I wouldn't mind my babies smelling like. As for applying the massage oil....it was great. Not greasy AT ALL, massaged in to the skin very well, and it did not leave a huge mess. I was also concerned about rashes, as my girls and I are allergic to pretty much everything, but not even a hint of skin disturbance! In fact, both ladies loved how it felt on their skin. In their words:
The Curly Haired One: "I liked it because it felt nice. It made my skin so smooth, and I could still put on my jammies after and they didn't get stuck. It smelled nummy too. I wanted to put some on my baby (doll) but Mama wouldn't let me."
If that's not a product endorsement, I don't know what is!! Because I am so excited about this company, I am very pleased to announce a giveaway that ecostore USA would like to offer to my readers!
