Time Saver Tuesday Wednesday!

Hello, my darlings! Thank you so much for being understanding of my need to whore out Katelyn's Story yesterday, incessantly, on Facebook and Twitter, and bumping Time Saver Tuesday to today in favor of it. After reading said story, I'm sure you understand why I needed to do so. Supporting the March of Dimes and their work really helps me to work through issues I had remaining about Katelyn's traumatic gestation, and writing the story really validated those feelings and helped me move on. Yesterday was super emotional for me, reading the amazing comments people left for my post as well as reading others posts. It was also very humbling--so many preemie stories do not end as picture perfect as ours did. I cannot express how thankful I am that I am the only one with lingering physical effects of that pregnancy, and not my sweet Katelyn. So, thanks for putting up with me, and let's get back to normal, kays?

I don't know about you, but I'm not the biggest fan of cleaning. I'm way too lazy busy to spend all day dusting and polishing and scrubbing. However, my house looks much nicer clean than dirty, and I don't want my kids growing up in an unorganized nasty mess. So, although I don't like it, I clean. The same goes for cooking. I actually really like cooking, I just rarely have the time I would like to prepare creative and healthy meals. I have developed some great tips and tricks to expend as little effort as possible maximize the efficiency of my cleaning and cooking, and I thought Time Saver Tuesday would be a great way to share those with all of you, as well as learn some new tricks and time savers! This week's problem:

Cleaning Toilets.

Are you kidding me? Of all the things I have to do in my life as a mom, the most revolting and just plain wrong thing is cleaning the toilet. All these disgusting creatures I live with urinate and defecate in there, but I'm the one who has to clean it? I don't get paid enough for this shit...literally. I've discovered, shockingly, that toddler/preschool age girls are the most foul bathroom users on the planet. I had always assumed that college age boys would be the worst, but I shared a house with four of those once (long story) and their toilet was NOTHING compared to my daughters'. I'm not about to stick my hands in that cesspool, so I've found a little trick to keep the toilets sparkling clean, and me from vomiting in said toilet.

This thing is awesome. You click on the spongey end, which is filled with Clorox-y goodness, scrub the toilet, and when you're done, pop off the germ filled end directly into garbage, no hands necessary, and place the wand back onto the "designer" caddy. While this caddy is not going to convince anyone it came from Pottery Barn or something, it definitely looks much better than a nasty toilet brush. I like the fact that it is totally hands-free...I don't have to touch anything gross. And unlike other hands free systems I've tried, I find the Clorox cleans the best, and requires the least amount of elbow grease. If you want to give it a try, click here for a $5 off coupon.

****Side note: because of all the drama surrounding disclosure and blogging with integrity in the mommy blogging world lately, let me tell you that I did not get paid to promote this product. In fact, I have never gotten any compensation, via money, free products, or coupons, to promote any of the products I've talked about. I tell you about them because they have truly made my life better in some way, and I want to share that with you. I have some compensated reviews in the works right now, and please let me assure you that I will fully disclose if and when I am ever being compensated to review or promote a product or service. I blog because this is my truth. You do me the favor of reading what I have to say, so I will return the favor by only giving you my honesty and integrity. Thanks. :)

I hope you find this product helpful! If you have an idea you'd like to share, please feel free to leave it in the comments or email it to me at kisha.floren@gmail.com and I'd be happy to share it in a future Time Saver Tuesday post!
